Models

Below are models that I have created where the full scope was to create a model, not as part of a larger project. These models have allowed me to focus on what creates an appealing 3D character, learn how to more efficiently sculpt, and to refine my techniques.

Saga

This model was made as a Secret Santa Present for a friend who goes by deedee-sunflowers on tumblr. I worked on it periodically throughout the course of two weeks.

I took a 2D character design that my friend had made and translated that into the 3D space while trying to keep the original style of the design intact. After that, I created some props that suited the character's personality and posed them.

Cass

This model was made over the course of 8 weeks for a class. The goal of the class was to create a polished model entirely in Zbrush.

As I naturally gravitate towards inhuman characters in my projects, I wanted to use this class as an opportunity to refine my skills for modeling a stylized human character.

Alien

This model was my first foray into using Zbrush to sculpt models, made over a ten week period for class. My goal was to create a character that felt like he belonged in a specific world, so I put a lot of thought into specific adaptations and turning that into a cohesive, aesthetically pleasing design.

The House

This model was commissioned by Sarah Jolley to be used in their webcomic, The Property of Hate. The goal of this project was to recreate a distinctive 2D design in 3D so that it could be drawn over for the comic. This way dynamic angles and perspectives could be used easily. As such, the house is rendered as black and white.

You can read the webcomic here.

Slip of the Pen

These models were created over the course of ten weeks for a class. We created 3 different pitches for a project, then picked one to work on after presenting to the class.

The pitch centers around a weathered, heroic looking woman named Allie who is partnered with a cartoon dog called Chi. The two must travel alongside each other despite their vast differences and learn to work together.
